Trap: Chapter One

Ready to take off to the far planet, three clones, Flash, Jester, and Tripwire stand near five ships.

<img:http://elftown.eu/img/drawing/74062_1096559154.jpg>

Yativ smiled as he walked confidently towards them and gave them relaxed salute in acknowledgment. "It's good to have you three with us!" he called.

Alina grinned and ran over to her red ship, running a hand along it. She looked back at the clones. "Hey, guys."

Jester took a step forward and smiled at the padawans. "I'll be leading this one as I'm the experienced pilot here." Flash and Tripwire shot each other grins as they listened to Jester.

Yativ swung into his blue ship and shot Jester a look. "Really? I'm not so sure..."

Alina started laughing. "Yeah. Cause we all know that I'm the one that has the most experience."

Yativ pretended to glare at her. "I am unconvinced of this," he needled before closing the cockpit bubble.

Jumping into her ship, Alina ignited it and closed the cover at the same time. She took off smoothly, then ignited the drive, shooting Yativ's ship with hot air before taking off.

Yativ grumbled as he started the ship's systems, then nodded to the clones before shooting into the air after Alina at a steep angle.

Alina laughed over her hastily donned headset. "Sorry, Yativ. I hope that wasn't too hot for you."

"Same to you," Yativ retorted as his ship suddenly cut in front of Alina's.

"Would you two knock that off," Flash said over the headset. "I don't want to have to tell the masters that you were killed because you were playing around in space vessels."

Alina giggled and pulled up even with Yativ. "Sorry, Flash. Won't happen again."

Yativ gave Alina a reproachful look as if he was scolding her for her behavior. "See to it that it doesn't happen again, young Jedi."

Alina glared at Yativ as she met up with her hyperspace ring. "Did you tell Master Yoda you were leaving? He's going to be quite upset with you. I have free reign. Do you?" She took off into hyperspace, leaving her question hanging there.

Jester chuckled as the clones connected with the rings. "She has a point, sir. You should inform them of what we're doing." He sat there as the other two took off after Alina. "You wouldn't want to get into too much trouble."

Yativ grinned at Jester. "No time. Besides, I was given clearance to complete a mission - and it's not complete yet so..." and with that he punched the hyperdrive into action and disappeared.

Jester took off after everyone, grumbling to himself.

Alina was the first out of hyperspace. Her ship came out in the middle of a bunch of ice covered asteroids. "Damn! Damn! Damn!" she cursed over her headset. "Watch out, guys!"

Yativ's ship pulled out of lightspeed and he immediately was forced to pull up hard on the controls to evade an asteroid.

Once the clones made it out, Jester looked down at his nav guide. "Who entered these coordinates?" he asked angrily. "We're about a million parsecs off!"

Alina looked down at her control panel. She cursed again. "We need to get out of here!"

Yativ began scanning for enemy fighters. "You guys reset the navicomputer and make the jump to lightspeed. I'll go last."

Flash reset the navicomputer and nodded at the others. "I'll go first, see you on the other side." His ship jumped. The other two clones followed.

Alina gave Yativ a look. "I don't like this. Not one bit."

Yativ peered at her through the cockpit canopy. "What, do you expect me to like it? Let's go."

Alina nodded and reset her ship to take off into hyperspace. When she hit the button, however, the ship just sputtered at her. She tried it again, and again it just sputtered.

Yativ shut his eyes tightly and breathed out in frustration. "And how shall we resolve this?" he asked, voice seething with sarcasm.

Settling further into her seat, Alina explored her ship with the Force. "Just leave me here, I'll sort it out in a minute."

"It would be foolish to split up," Yativ grumbled. "Besides, if your ship is fried then," he activated the hyperdrive and the ship coughed and shuddered, "mine might not work either..." he finished glumly.

Alina sighed. "Well...what now?"

Yativ began drumming his fingers on the ship console in agitation. "Let's see if there are any ships in the vicinity..."

Glancing at him, Alina laughed. "Yeah. In the middle of an asteroid field?"

Yativ's fingers stopped. "Someone sent us here. Suppose this is an ambush?" he asked, checking the sensors.

When the sensors didn't pick anything up, Alina shook her head and sat back in her seat, humming softly to herself as she continued to check her ship.

Yativ seethed with annoyance and impatience. He opened all comm channels and continued to watch the sensors, convinced that droid fighters were about to swarm out of the asteroid field.

Alina bolted up in her seat suddenly, almost hitting her head on the top of the bubble. "I found it!" she yelled into the headset.

"Found what?!" Yativ exclaimed.

Without answering him, Alina slipped into the inner parts of her ship, disappearing from view. A muffled sound of cursing came over the headset as her ship suddenly fired up again.

Struck with sudden mischief, Yativ reached into the force and directed a lazily rolling asteroid towards Alina's ship. "Hey Alina, watch out for that asteroid..." he warned.

Alina stood back up in her ship quickly, whacking her head on the bubble as she scanned for the asteroid. She moved it away, then sat down, holding her skull. "Ow."

Yativ flicked another asteroid toward her ship with a wave of his hand. "Oh my," he said in a monotone voice, "there comes another..."

Another ship pulled out of hyperspace, colliding with the moving asteroid. Daj'Raen glared at Yativ from the inside of his ship. "I sensed that, young one."

"Well, I'm glad you showed up!" Yativ said, brightening. "I believe our hyperdrives were sabatoged..."

Alina glanced over at Yativ. "Well, I fixed my hyperdrive. Not that it did much good."

~A brief pause came over the com, "Our sensors are picking up several mining instilations at the far side of the asteroid field, but as yet no other energy signals, but stay alert! My ship can clear the way, follow me for once young ones!" Master Daj'Raen growled irritatedly then added, "And if i catch any more of these childish antics whilst on a mission you WILL have me to answer too, is that understood! The council has deemed you lot 'fit' to lead this mission, i suggest you take their confidences seriously!"

~Just then the large ship sweeps past with it's seven cannons blasting various hunks of rocks alternatively and several massive asteroids gliding apart to clear a path.

Alina stared at Daj'Raen. "Childish...antics?" Since she was unaware of Yativ's playing, she took slight offense. As the ship blasted the asteroids, she jumped again, swinging her ship away from the canon blasts.

Yativ chuckled at Alina and fell into line behind the Vindicator.

Daj'Raen led the padawans from the asteroid field then stopped his ship once more.

Alina followed, but swung around his ship, staring at the open space. "Where are we?"

Yativ brought his ship to a halt behind the Vindicator but high enough to see over the top.

"We're pretty far into the Outer Rim and well beyond the Republic's protection young ones, so try and be on your guard!" Daj'Raen said.

There were no planets around, yet the hyperdrives on the padawans' ships were out, so traveling extensive distances was out of the question. The nearest planet on the charts was a small planet called Dagobah.

Yativ was not impressed by this information.

Daj'Raen looked over his charts and nodded. "We'll land on that planet. Hopefully someone will live there and we can get your ships fixed properly." He swung the Vindicator around and headed in the direction of the planet.

Alina followed at a distance. "My ship is fixed," she grumbled.

Yativ cleared his throat in annoyance. "Then maybe you should fix mine as well so we can continue on our mission instead of this diversion. Our clone unit will be rather... frantic..."

Daj'Raen glanced over at Yativ. "You'll land as ordered. I will not have either of you jumping into hyperspace without properly working ships."

With a sigh, Alina caught up with the Vindicator. "Fine. I'll land."

Yativ accelerated his ship ahead and headed for Dagobah.

The planet of Dagobah is overgrown swampland. There is a single clearing to land the vessels in, and Daj'Raen lands there, slipping out of his ship quickly.

Alina landed next to Daj'Raen and looked around her quickly. "This planet sure is wild," she said, mostly to herself.

~Pulling his long cloak round his shoulders master Daj'Raen nods at teh young jedi then surveys the vacinity. after a moment he raises his arm and chirps his wrist com. "R4, keep the ship ready and maintain long range scans, we'll report back as soon as we can!"

~Looking back over his broad shoulder at the group of troopers exiting the hangar of 'The Vindicator' the reptilian master calls, "Captain Sparks, you and your men form a porimitor and await my com, we'll call if your needed."

~"Roger that sir!" The lead trooper saluted swiftly then began barking orders at his subordinates as they rushed forth from the hangar of the large transport vessel 'The Vindicator'.

~Then to the young padawans Master Daj'Raen turned slowly, his golden eyes narrowed slightly, "Are you two coming with me, or should i leave you here to babysit my men?"

Yativ folded his arms and gave Daj'Raen a distastful look.

~"very well, you two stay here and 'mend' your ships, i'll go investigate. i shouldn't be too long!" Master Daj'Raen growled shooting the padawan and steady glare before moving off into the swamp.

Yativ turned away from Daj'Raen and stomped over to his ship and opened the spare parts compartment. "Alina, how did you fix your hyperdrive?"

Alina looked at Yativ and hurried over to his ship. "Like this," she said before opening a side panel and reconnecting a wire that had obviously been torn out. "That should do it." She looked around at the planet, her lekku twitching. "I don't like this place. It feels bad."

Demoralized, Yativ's shoulders slumped as he gazed at the brutally simple fix Alina had just carried out. He sighed and closed the parts compartement. "I'm sure our previous destination wouldn't have been significantly better..."

Three small creatures wander from the trees, making their way quickly across the clearing, ignoring the padawans. Their squeeks of distress were abruptly cut off by a larger, more menacing sound from the woods. A large, multi-limbed creature came from the trees, stopped upon seeing the padawans, and roared, revealing many rows of sharp teeth in its huge jaws.

"Ah, that's unfortunate," Yativ mumbled, staring at the creature. He ignited his lightsaber and turned to Alina. "This might be an excellent time to make our exit..." he suggested, tapping his ship with his boot.

Alina nodded. "I agree. But should we leave that master here?"

"He's fine," Yativ hurriedly answered as he swung into the cockpit and turned the ship's systems on.

Alina climbed into her own ship and ignited it, swinging up into the atmosphere. "Should we try to catch up to the others?"

"Yes, we need to resume the mission," Yativ answered, taking up position above the planet as he punched coordinates into the navicomputer.

Alina nodded and frowned slightly as she reset her navicomputer. "Lets go, then." She punched her hyperdrive and her ship disappeared.

~A voice comes over both your coms, "You two go on ahead, i'll catch up when i'm able but DO try not to get yourselves killed in my apsence please. Daj'Raen out!"

2009-05-14 [Flisky]: No! Nononono!

2009-05-14 [Flisky]: You're doing it wrong! There are no planets around here!!!!

2009-05-14 [Flisky]: So when the hyperdrives go out, it'll be that much worse!

2009-05-14 [jaraden]: right, so it's an asteroid belt circling a sun??? i is confused....

2009-05-14 [Flisky]: It's an asteroid field, not belt. Random chunks of rock floating through space. Almost like something was destroyed there. But you're wrecking my plans.

2009-05-14 [jaraden]: gotcha.

2009-05-14 [jaraden]: good old dagobah...

2009-05-14 [Flisky]: Mwahaha!

2009-05-15 [Imperator]: Can we hurry it up?

2009-05-16 [Flisky]: I was waiting for jaraden to fix his post after I wrote that. But I guess he never did...

2009-05-16 [jaraden]: i did fix it.. well deleted it at any rate.. no stepping on toes fer me!! ooppss again!

2009-05-16 [Imperator]: I'm just talking about moving the plot faster. Yativ is getting irritable...

2009-05-16 [Flisky]: I'm trying. But we have to get to the stupid planet first.

2009-05-18 [jaraden]: patience IS a virtue remember Imperator... *laughs* not that i have any to speak of...

2009-05-19 [Flisky]: *sighs* Oh, forget it. I give up. (We're on the planet to fix the padawans ship. And the clones didn't land yet. They shouldn't even be there!)

2009-05-20 [Imperator]: Jaraden! Quit playing characters besides Daj'Raen!

2009-05-20 [jaraden]: ahh your clones aren't with you, but had you read the bit before i joined you you would know there is a small detachement of troops with MY ship.. so i'm not fudging anything about, they aren't the troops in the ships you guys came with, they are with me.

2009-05-20 [Imperator]: But you still have to let Flisky play those clones! Only she can play characters besides your own.

2009-05-21 [Flisky]: The clones never landed!!!! Where in the text does it even say they're on the planet before you made mention??? *grabs head in slightly agony*

2009-05-21 [Imperator]: "Looking back over his broad shoulder at the group of troopers exiting the hangar of 'The Vindicator'..."

He had clones on his ship that got off. He's not talking about Jester, Tripwire, or Flash.

2009-05-21 [Flisky]: *finally snaps* I KNOW THAT!!! THEY AREN'T HERE! AND DAGOBAH WOULDN'T HAVE A PLACE BIG ENOUGH FOR A HANGAR BASED SHIP TO FREAKIN' LAND ON IT'S SURFACE!!!!!!!!
